Over 20,000 Diapers Collected in The Great Diaper Drive Sponsored by AFS
AFS Foundation & Waterproofing Specialists partnered with WHNT News 19 and RocketCityMom.com for the Great Diaper Drive which ran from September 11-30. The Great Diaper Drive was designed to help families in need who cannot afford diapers for their infants. Over 20,000 diapers were collected throughout the drive. All diapers will be distributed through the Manna House, a local 501(c)3 organization which serves as a local soup kitchen and food pantry for the less fortunate.
“There are far too many families in our community who cannot afford the basic resources they need to take care of their children,” noted Ben Bayless, Jr., President of AFS. “That’s why the AFS family wanted to support this diaper drive. We learned that just $25 can buy a family in need 200 diapers.” Bayless continued, “We know that the diaper and cash donations will go a long way to helping these families across North Alabama.”
AFS provided volunteer staffing at the diaper collection stations throughout the Tennessee Valley. Marketing Director Dale Johnson commented, “We’re fortunate to be able to take care of our own families; it’s a privilege to be a part of a campaign that gives other families in our community the supplies they need to care for their own.”
