The sunken and cracked concrete around your Florence home is both an eyesore and a safety hazard. It is also likely to get worse, but we can fix it for you.
Our experts use PolyLevel, a superior polyurethane foam. Small holes are drilled in the concrete, the foam is injected and the expanding foam lifts the concrete. The majority of contractors you will call use mudjacking instead of foam. Mudjacking is heavier, require larger holes in the concrete and does not last as long as PolyLevel. A crawl space is often an overlooked part of a home as it is not typically seen or used often. When John & Jenny W. of Florence, AL found that the floors above their crawl space were bowing, they were curious for an answer. The couple found an advertisement for AFS in the yellow pages, and noticing that they did free estimates, the couple called them up to come out and give them a free estimate.
Two days after contacting them, they were met by waterproofing specialist John Davis of AFS to evaluate the couple’s crawl space. After taking a look in the crawl space, John informed the couple that the floors were indeed bowing and needed immediate remediation or the problem could become even bigger. John recommended to the couple that the best way to stabilize their crawl space and fix the floors would be the installation of Smart Jacks. Smart Jacks are a supplemental support system used to fix sagging floors and stabilize crawl spaces. Smart Jacks are installed over a base made of either crushed stone or recycled concrete; this ensures the jack is able to support the load of the house and fix it as well.
With the recommendations agreed upon, John called primary foreman Luis Gazca and his crew to install the necessary crawl space remediation products. No job is too big for the professionals at AFS and thanks to their newly installed systems, John & Jenny will no longer have to stress about the stability of their crawl space and can rest assured knowing its stable for the oncoming years!
James P. was a typical Florence, AL homeowner until he noticed one day that his basement was taking in water. After frantically looking for a waterproofing company, James was referred to AFS by a family member. He decided to give them a call to come and check out his basement.
Later that week James was met by waterproofing specialist Reid Cox of AFS. After James explained the problem to Reid, Reid decided to look at the situation himself. Reid found that the basement was taking on water through footing of the foundation. Fortunately for James, Reid had the perfect solution for his basement. In order to prevent groundwater from flooding the basement, Reid proposed the idea of installing the WaterGuard XL drainage system. This system is installed along the perimeter of the basement, above the footing, ensuring all water is caught and displaced without any potential clogging that happens to traditional trench drains. Next Reid recommended the installation of both an UltraSump and SuperSump sump pumps. These, in combination with the WaterGuard XL, will efficiently drain all incoming water redirected by the WaterGuard no matter how heavy the storm. The UltraSump is built with a back up battery to allow drainage even during a power outage. A FloodRing was also recommended as extra precaution in case the water heater begins to flood.
After coming to a compromise on the necessary installations, Reid called in primary foreman Luis Gazca and his crew to install the necessary products. After a quick two day installation, the process was done. The professionals at AFS aim for nothing less than total satisfaction for their customers and James is no exception. The work they did in his basement will show in the oncoming years and James will no longer have to worry about water overtaking his basement!
