AFS Foundation & Waterproofing Specialists Partners with Habitat for Humanity for the Third Time
AFS Foundation & Waterproofing Specialists (AFS) partnered with Habitat for Humanity for the third year in a row. The companywide Build Together 2025 initiative encourages employees across the U.S. and Canada to assist in building homes for members of their local communities.
AFS’s parent company, Groundworks, donated $125,000 and will deploy over 700 volunteers to Habitat for Humanity affiliates. Part of the Goodworks by Groundworks program, this partnership gives employees the chance to volunteer and join the Habitat mission to support long-term stability through safe and affordable housing.
Louisville
AFS employees in Louisville volunteered their time on May 17 with Habitat for Humanity of Metro Louisville. Volunteers spent the day painting the siding on the new home.
Team members were excited to spend their day volunteering and making a direct impact on the local community.

Birmingham
Four AFS teams participated in builds in July, starting with the Birmingham team. A group of eight volunteers installed siding on the exterior and assembled and installed cabinetry on the interior.
Their collaboration with Habitat for Humanity of Greater Birmingham was featured on WIAT, the local CBS affiliate station.

Nashville
The next day, volunteers in Nashville teamed up with Rutherford County Area Habitat for Humanity. Nine people came together to start the framing on a brand-new build that will later be dedicated to a local Habitat homeowner.

Chattanooga
On July 18, AFS team members partnered with Habitat for Humanity of the Greater Chattanooga Area. As shown on WDEF (CBS), the volunteers built and stood up framing walls for the new home in Avondale.

Huntsville
A few days later, the AFS office in Huntsville partnered with Habitat for Humanity of the River Valley. A large group of 12 volunteers installed doors, windows, and cabinets at a new home build in Huntsville. Their build day received national attention, being featured not only on their local news station, but also on MSN online.

Auburn
In October, the team in Auburn had its opportunity to partner with Columbus Area Habitat for Humanity. Six team members laid the foundation and concrete for a home in Columbus, GA. They were extremely excited to be one of the first groups to work on this home for a future Habitat homeowner.

Knoxville
Last, the team participated in a playhouse build with Knoxville Habitat for Humanity. The playhouse program has teams design and assemble children’s playhouses for families working toward owning a Habitat for Humanity home. The team enjoyed the opportunity to construct a playhouse for a local veteran family and see their efforts on WATE (ABC).
