AFS Participates in the Downtown Rescue Mission’s Glow Run 5K Fundraiser

The chance to run in the dark wearing glow sticks and fun, colorful outfits: yes, please!

Several employees and their families from the AFS Foundation & Waterproofing Specialists’ Huntsville office were ecstatic to participate in the annual Glow Run 5K. Held on March 2, 2024, at the Adtran campus in Huntsville, the event drew more than 1,000 runners and guests like our team, all eager to support a good cause.

Selflessly Lending a Helping Hand

Proceeds from the fundraising event benefit the Downtown Rescue Mission. The non-profit organization has served North Alabama and South Tennessee communities for almost five decades. Their work goes far beyond providing shelter. Last year, thanks to generous supporters, they offered thousands of meals and overnight accommodations daily.

However, the organization’s impact extends much further, made possible by the continued backing of donors and community partners. Various programs and services include daily meal provision, emergency assistance, programs aimed at transforming lives, medical care through clinics, and outreach initiatives in the community.
