AFS Sponsors Huntsville Hospital Foundation’s 2024 Swing Fore Children with Cancer Golf Tournament

No one deserves to suffer from cancer, especially children. It’s important for those of us who can do so to stand up for them, offering support so they can beat the disease and thrive.

When our team at AFS Foundation & Waterproofing Specialists heard about an event that ultimately helps young people with cancer, we jumped at the chance to be involved.

We were a Sterling sponsor for the 2024 Swing Fore Children with Cancer Crim Golf Tournament. Along with being a sponsor, two of our employees participated in the tournament, which was held on June 17, 2024, at The Ledges in Huntsville.

Proceeds from the fun-filled event benefit the Huntsville Hospital Foundation, specifically the Crim Compassion Fund.

Supporting Children In Their Time of Need

The Crim Compassion Fund, created to honor Frank Crim, DMD, has collected over $650,000. This money supports North Alabama children receiving cancer treatments by providing financial aid, activities, and other forms of assistance.

The fund particularly helps local children with cancer and blood disorders who are treated at the Pediatric Oncology Clinic of Huntsville Hospital for Women & Children. It addresses these young patients’ unique needs.

Through donations and proceeds from the yearly Swing “Fore” Children with Cancer Golf Tournament, the fund offers various forms of support. These include financial assistance, gift cards, toys and games, celebratory “No Mo Chemo” parties, holiday gifts for patients and their siblings, Wall of Heroes portraits, and college scholarships, among other initiatives.
