Dan Gordon came out this past Tuesday to do an assessment on the foundation of my home. When looking at the cracks on our home, we did not think that this was a major issue. When Dan arrived, he took the time to assess the foundation issues that we were having and explained that this was more of an issue than what we were led to believe. Dan was able to give us a diagnosis on what the symptoms were and a clear path to fix this problem.

This is a great company to work with. We first met Ben who analyzed our situation and kindly sat down with us and discussed a plan that not only addressed the most serious foundational problems first but kept it affordable for us. A few weeks later David, Bobby and Jesus came by, even though it looked like rain, and not only got the job done quickly and efficiently but they did an awesome job of cleaning up and replacing concrete. David was really friendly and walked us through the whole process, too. We can’t recommend this company enough!

On April 14, 2023 Joseph Maynard, Michael Moseley, and Charles Baldwin came out to place piers along the front side of the house. They arrived on time, and explained what was going to happen. The lead person was very professional, checking with my 93 yr old mom about the landscape asking what she wanted saved–and she definitely had specifics for them. They said they would try to abide by her wishes as best they could. They proceeded with the work of placing the piers, 8 to be exact. They also placed the flowers and garden artwork back where my mom wanted. The landscape actually looked better after they completed the pier placement work, and replaced the flowers!! AFS placed piers last year on the other side of the house and all is well with that installation after a year. Our experience with AFS has been without any complaints, and the work has held up. I would recommend them if asked.

My husband and I were both VERY HAPPY with our experience with AFS Chattanooga. They were quick to respond to our request for a bid. Eric came out to give us a bid after inspecting our crawlspace. He made his numbers competitive with some other bids. We have experience with AFS at a rental home and have been very happy with the service provided annually, so were happy to work with them on our home. Every rep I spoke to on the phone was polite and professional. AND HERE'S A CONCEPT!!!! THEY ACTUALLY DO WHAT THEY PROMISE THEY WILL DO. They confirmed job date and time. They called when on their way. They arrived ON TIME, something most contractors seem to have an issue with. AND, MAN THEY WORK HARD. The install crew of Caleb Britton, Aiden Langford and Spirit Ettesvold busted their butts. No goofing off or milking the day. WOW, they set a pace. My crawlspace looks great. I even had a rep who checked in with me as they were nearing completion to be sure we were happy with everything. Oh yeah. I'm happy. I highly recommend AFS – Chattanooga for encapsulation work. They did a great job from start to finish.

Fred came out on a miserable day without complaint, explained the inspection process and got to work immediately. He then gave a thorough of his findings and already had recommendations ready to go. Work was performed THE NEXT WEEK by Trent, Darian and Tyler. Encapsulated, the crawlspace, added the floor jacks and lifted the house all in half a day. As a realtor, I hired this company to perform foundation work for a client of mine. The initial experience was positive, thanks to their sales representative, Kyle. He was exceptionally professional and conducted a much more thorough inspection of the property compared to another company I had considered, which ultimately led to hiring this team. Unfortunately, the crew that arrived to perform the work was not as professional. Since the work was done inside the home, the client was assured that their belongings would be covered and protected, but this promise was not upheld. The tenants occupying the property called me to express their frustrations. They reported that their belongings were left uncovered and were coated in dirt and dust. They had to stay in a hotel due to the disruption. To make matters worse, one of the workers was vaping inside the house, which was particularly upsetting to the tenants as they have a small child. Additionally, construction debris was left in the front yard, and no effort was made to clean it up. There were also several lapses in communication throughout the process. While this experience was extremely frustrating, I have to commend the production manager, Brett, for stepping in and saving the situation. Brett took full accountability for the issues and addressed every concern head-on. He apologized multiple times and went above and beyond to make things right. Brett covered the cost of the tenants’ hotel stay, ensured that damaged items in the house were repaired, paid for flooring replacement, and even wrote a check for over $1,600 to compensate the tenants for their damaged belongings. He also ensured the debris was removed and used the situation as a training opportunity for the company. Although this experience started poorly, Brett's integrity and willingness to take responsibility turned it around. Without Brett’s intervention, this review would have been very different. I hope the company learns from this and improves their on-site professionalism to match the excellence of their sales and management team.

WOW! It's not often I can say everything went as well or better than I hoped for. From the original call when a real person picked up the phone and set up an appointment for my estimate to the completion of the job I have nothing but good things to say aboutthe experience. Daniel came to our home and explained to us what needed to be done to correct the problem. He called ahead and was on time arriving. He made sure we understood what was involved with making the repair and walked us through the warranty info.The day of the scheduled repair we received a phone call from Josh stating that they were running a little ahead of schedule and asked could they come early. We told him to head our way. Josh and Jeremy both were very professional and we are happy with the work they did and how they cleaned up the area. I am so glad that this is the company we chose to use for this project.

I needed a sidewalk lifted and some voids under the garage floor filled, so I contacted AFS do get an estimate for the repairs. The estimator, Jordan Clark, did a thorough inspection and told us what was needed. I decided to go ahead with the repairs, and this morning Parris Houchins and Aiden Langford completed the repairs. The sidewalk is back up where it’s supposed to be, the trip hazards gone, and the garage floor shored up so it shouldn’t crack and settle down the road. Parris was very helpful in explaining what they were doing. I’d recommend AFS Knoxville for your sidewalk/driveway lifting needs.

The real measure of a company is not how they behave when all is well, but how they treat their customers when everything goes pear-shaped; and that's exactly what happened in our case. Sometimes you get a bad crew, a small group of ne'er do wells who simply don't perform. It happens. It happened to us. However once upper management found out what was going on they didn't hesitate to swoop in and make everything right, and that at a substantial cost to themselves. Concrete work is bloody expensive no matter the size of the job and, although we're just one small residential account, we were taken seriously and all repairs were done professionally and at our convenience. I can't praise these people enough for how they chose to behave when the chips were down, and I highly recommend them both for their skill and their commitment.

I worked with Wade Seller on a home project and was impressed from the start. Wade is a straight shooter who doesn’t try to upsell you on things you don’t need. We had moisture seeping through the concrete slab at our front steps. Wade provided a complimentary inspection, and after assessing the issue, he told me they could take on the project — but recommended I try fixing it myself first to save money. He explained exactly what to do and what materials to use. When I ran into issues, Wade made himself available and offered additional guidance on how to move forward. He reminded me that his team could still take on the project if I didn’t want the hassle, but it would definitely be more economical to do it myself. I sincerely appreciate Wade’s honesty, direction, and availability throughout the process. If you’re looking for someone who’s going to shoot it straight and genuinely try to help, I highly recommend Wade for any foundation work you may need.

AFS is an excellent all around company from presentation to performance to follow up. Javier M, Reynaldo B, and Juan installed a drain and sump pump in the basement on my job. I am a contractor and I know good work when I see it. There was sincere and honest communication. This is a very diligently managed company. George, who did the presentation was not just a salesman, he really had something behind everything he said. On top of all this, AFS offers a lifetime warranty. I recently found out the Credit Union I am over needed major foundation repairs. I had to obtain 3 estimates to present to my board. The estimate from AFS was competitive in terms of price with the other companies, but they trumped the competition in other ways. Forest (the estimator w/AFS) was awesome, he took me around the building and showed me exactly how the equipment worked to determined the extent of the repairs needed. He was extremely friendly and informative. He even answered my boards questions concerning the competitors estimates because I couldn’t reach them on the phone. 12 outta 10 for the estimator!! As for the repairs, Joe Hawkins was the foreman over the repairs. Joe and his crew were exemplary!! We ran into multiple issues and Joe handled them all like a champ! He kept me informed the entire time, answered all my question, and was accommodating with scheduling needs and issues that arose with our neighbors. AFS should start a “be like Joe” training for all their new crew’s!! If I ever need foundation repairs in the future, I will certainly use AFS and while I am sure all their crews and estimators are brilliant…I’d likely request Joe as the foreman and Forest as the estimator! Bravo guys!! 20 outta 10!
