Crawl Space Repair in Nashville, TN
Due to outdated design techniques, crawl spaces are susceptible to moisture damage from a variety of sources. Rain, humidity, or flooding are all natural occurrences in the Nashville area – and each of these phenomena has the potential to cause moisture problems in an unprotected crawl space. When your crawl space is damaged, your entire home suffers.
Whether it’s moisture-related issues that pose a risk to your health, or structural damage that arises after a heavy storm, installing crawl space encapsulation is an effective way to keep your home safe. AFS has the experience and tools to do just that. Since 2000, we’ve helped homeowners in Nashville protect their crawl spaces from moisture. Don’t let crawl space problems ruin one of your most important investments!
The AFS Repair Process
Crawl Space Problem Signs in Nashville
Because your crawl space is separated from your home, certain problem signs are easy to overlook or simply difficult to spot. Going below to check for problem signs can be dangerous, so we don’t recommend going into your crawl space without professional help. Thankfully, there are problem signs that arise inside your home—making them easier to spot.
Look out for sagging floors, musty odors, and high humidity in your home. These problem signs stem from unseen issues in your crawl space such as condensation, crawl space flooding, wood rot, and mold. Even worse, mold and mildew release spores into the air that spread into your living space. This contributes to musty odors and makes the air in your home unhealthy.
Causes of Crawl Space Damage in Nashville
Most crawl spaces are exposed to the elements, allowing moisture to collect beneath your home, especially in Nashville’s high humidity and frequent rains. When humidity rises in Nashville during the summer, air can enter your crawl space and permeate the wooden structural beams. This leads to wood rot and mold.
As water drains into the soil, it travels below your crawl space, potentially leading to flooding or high amounts of water vapor beneath your home. The main causes of crawl space damage include open crawl space vents, rain and groundwater, and the stack effect. Essentially, all crawl space damage is traced back to excess moisture.
Crawl Space Repair Solutions in Nashville
Since moisture is the main source of problems in your Nashville crawl space, AFS has solutions that prevent moisture from building up below your home. When it comes to keeping humidity out of your crawl space, our team installs a few different measures – dehumidifiers, vapor barriers, and crawl space doors all stop humidity from accumulating.
To prevent flooding and precipitation from damaging your crawl space, AFS installs crawl space drains, drainage matting, and a sump pump system to direct water away from the foundation. Lastly, we repair damaged floor joists to restore your foundation and help ensure long-term crawl space stability.

Jesse, Ke,Saun, and Collin went above and beyond taking care of the crawlspace and piers on my cabin. From start to finish all 3 kept me completely informed of each step of the process and even asked where I would like them to park before the project began. Would definitely recommend over and over again. AFS Nashville is top Tier!

I had a great experience working with Rhett at AFS. He was incredibly thorough with his assessment and explained everything. My house was built in the 50s, so it has its quirks. He assured me that repairing the moisture damage in the crawlspace was step one in our home reno. A crawlspace repair is definitely not something you want to spend money on, but I feel confident it was worth every penny!
