"The crew that came out from AFS to install 6 pillars were fantastic. They are Josh B Bailey L Isaiah W Kuda They worked awesome as a team!!! The work was explained to me what they were going to do, how they were going to do it, and what materials they were using. Answered any and all questions. One of the points they made was they would dig down till they hit rock, well here in Mt. Juliet you don’t have to dig very far as a matter of fact footer sat on rock ( 5 of 6 did) These men had jackhammers to bust out rock a foot down them undermine the footer 6” in order to get pillars in. They worked for two days jackhammering to accomplish this task. They worked together not just one doing all the work, they were awesome!!! Hard to find good workers like that anymore!!! It would be nice if they had a hoe ram attachment for their mini-x Would have saved them time and their backs. Once again they Never Slacked!!! I would highly recommend this group to do any of your work you need done ! They respected our home , yard and dogs:)! They were very professional Thank you we appreciate it very much I would like to give 10 starts but not an option. Call em you won’t be sorry you did !!!"

Common Causes of your Crawl Space Problems in Murfreesboro

Noticing moisture in your crawl space or musty odors in your home? Many homes in the Murfreesboro area face challenges due to the local climate and soil conditions. The region experiences varying rainfall and humidity levels, which can deeply impact the moisture content in the soil under homes. This fluctuation can lead to what's known as soil heave, where the ground expands and contracts, affecting the structure above. Additionally, many properties here have clay-heavy soil, which retains moisture and can exacerbate these issues, especially during seasonal moisture changes. In such environments, it's essential to understand how these factors can influence the overall integrity of your foundation and crawl space.

When the soil beneath your property shifts, it can lead to numerous structural issues. For instance, excess moisture in a crawl space often leads to weakened foundational support, uneven floors, and doors that stick. These problems not only compromise your home's stability but can also lead to expensive repairs if left unchecked. Pooling water and lingering dampness contribute to mold and rot, further threatening the structure and air quality. Early detection with proper maintenance, like crawl space encapsulation, can prevent these issues from escalating, safeguarding your home's health and ensuring longevity.

For minimal intrusion and maximum efficiency, reach out to a local professional to plan your encapsulation.

Yes, there are budget-friendly crawl space encapsulation options available. These include essential elements like a basic vapor barrier to control moisture and improve energy efficiency. While more comprehensive systems might offer additional benefits like enhanced mold prevention, a simpler solution can still effectively address moisture issues. It's worth assessing both immediate needs and long-term gains to determine what's best for your home and finances.

Plumbing, wiring, and ductwork typically remain undisturbed during encapsulation. The encapsulation system is designed to work around existing infrastructure, adding a sealed barrier and possibly a dehumidifier to regulate air quality without disrupting these essential services. In some cases, adjustments may be needed if access or maintenance is required, so discussing your home's specific needs with a local expert is a smart move. Ensuring proper installation might require slight adjustments, so professional evaluation is key.

Maintaining optimal conditions prevents potential moisture issues from arising, promoting a healthier home environment and prolonging structural integrity. Consider consulting with a local expert to explore how encapsulation could enhance your home comfort.

Permanent removal of crawl space odors involves addressing underlying moisture issues.
