"I have been dealing with AFS since 2023. I dealt with issues of water building up in my basement for over 20 years and I was not sure why. One day I ran across an ad on TV that said they could put a sump pump in the ground that would draw the water out of my house. My first great service man was Matt Hall and once he left the company I was lucky enough to have Charles Hallmark come and take over services for me for maintenance needs. Charles was able to understand my concerns. Make sure my service equipment was up to date and working properly, He let me know that any service needs that I may have in the future he was available to assist me with and I did not feel rushed or pressured to purchase anything at this time. But he also made me understand the importance and urgency of me not letting any of these these items and that need to be addressed taken care of as well. I can respect that and I definitely appreciate it because everybody's not in a financial position at the same time to just fix everything. That goes a long way and keeps lifelong customers. I wish all representatives understood that. Educate your customer as much as you can and then give them the freedom of space to make decisions when their financial able to. If you're an AFS future customer or existing customer and you're looking for a gentleman who understands and will make sure the service is done right, please ask for Charles Hallmark."

Common Causes of your Concrete Problems in Kathleen

Have you noticed uneven sidewalks or sinking driveways around your home? These issues are common in the Kathleen area, primarily due to challenging soil conditions. The region experiences significant shifts in moisture levels throughout the year, which leads to soil expansion and contraction. When the soil expands, it can uplift concrete surfaces, and conversely, as it contracts, it leaves gaps underneath the concrete. Over time, this ongoing cycle can cause settling or displacement of concrete in driveways, sidewalks, and patios. Gravity leads the concrete to sink into the voids formed by dried-out soil, resulting in uneven surfaces and potential tripping hazards.

This movement in the ground can put stress on your home's foundation as well. When the underlying support that the soil provides is compromised, concrete slabs can tilt or crack. This stress is not only a cosmetic issue but can also lead to more serious structural concerns if left unaddressed. Addressing these problems early can help prevent further complications. Early detection and treatment are crucial for maintaining the structural integrity of your home and ensuring safety. Lifting the concrete back to its original level can prevent water from pooling around foundations and stop further soil erosion, safeguarding your property for years to come.
