"The experience over all was great. Had a few small bumps in the road. A few things were left off of the work order and scheduling was kind of slow with the electrician. My salesman, Blake took care of it all and made it right. As for the installation crew, Cesar and his crew were amazing!!! Cesar was the one that noticed the mistake in the order and was trying to get it resolved prior to coming out, but he was having trouble getting in touch with the salesman Blake for some reason, he would not answer his phone call. Once he finally got Blake on the phone, which I had to call from my number, they worked it all out. Cesar and his crew took the time to be careful of all the plants in the flower beds. They dug up the rose bushes and replanted them when they were done. Also put down plywood to save the grass. Cesar kept apologizing for the mistake in the work order, I assured him that it wasn’t his fault. Blake did apologize but his communication could be better. He did resolve the error and I’m very grateful. But a special shout out to Cesar and his crew Miguel, Luciano, and Jerman!! They were great. When they cleaned everything up, it looked better than it did when they got there. Your install crew taking the time to acknowledge my frustration and being so kind really made the difference. Great job guys!!!"

Types of Foundation Damage in Alabaster

Common Causes of your Foundation Problems in Alabaster

Have you ever wondered why some homes in your area develop foundation problems over time? In and around Alabaster, certain environmental conditions can significantly impact soil and moisture levels, affecting the stability of your home. The region's soil often contains a mix of clay, which can expand and contract with changes in moisture. Rainy seasons can lead to increased soil expansion, while drier periods cause the ground to contract. This natural swelling and shrinking can shift the soil beneath your foundation, leading to uneven settling. Additionally, improper drainage or high groundwater levels may exacerbate these issues, as excessive moisture can weaken the soil's ability to support your home adequately.

These soil and moisture conditions can place immense stress on your foundation, basement, or crawl space. As a result, you might notice warning signs such as cracks in your walls, floors that feel uneven, doors that jam or do not latch properly, or even water pooling where it shouldn't. Addressing foundation issues when these signs first appear is essential, as early detection and intervention can prevent more extensive damage and costly repairs down the road. Homes in the Alabaster area are particularly susceptible to these problems due to the region's unique climate and soil characteristics, making regular inspections a wise choice for maintaining the long-term health of your property.

If considering a sale, having a certified report on hand is beneficial.

Common indicators of foundation problems include structural cracks, uneven floors, and doors or windows that stick. Foundation settlement can lead to significant issues, especially when expansive clay soil is present. If you notice these or other unusual changes, a professional assessment is advisable. Proactively addressing problems can prevent further damage and potentially higher repair costs.

In Alabaster, common signs of foundation damage include soil movement-related issues like structural cracks and doors that won't close properly. Expansive clay soil prevalent in the area can lead to uneven floors and misaligned windows. Keeping an eye out for these symptoms can help detect early foundation settlement, allowing timely intervention. If warning signs appear, it's wise to consult a foundation expert.

Yes, foundation repair might temporarily impact plumbing, HVAC, or utilities, especially during intensive processes. Foundation settlement can shift or strain connected systems, making professional coordination vital. Some foundation repair techniques involve deep underpinnings like helical piers, which may require strategic utility adjustments. Consult a specialist to ensure systems are handled properly during repairs.

No, you typically do not need to move out during foundation repairs, as most processes allow continued occupancy.
